Earthquake tremors were felt in Iran today amidst the Israel war. Earthquake tremors of 5.1 magnitude were felt. There is a doubt whether these tremors have happened due to Parabolic tremors. If we talk about the pictures received from the satellite, then the reason behind this is being believed to be the Israeli attack on Parabolic tremors like Natanz and Fordo. An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 struck Iran's Semnan province at 9:19 pm on Friday. The tremor was at a depth of 10 km, due to which tremors were felt in many areas including Tehran. Earlier, on June 15, a mild earthquake of magnitude 2.5 was also recorded near Fordo, which reportedly came after Israeli air strikes.

The timing and location of both quakes have fuelled speculation about nuclear activity, especially after reports of Israeli attacks on nuclear sites like Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo and satellite images showed signs of damage. However, experts believe that Iran is located on the Alpine-Himalayan Seismic Belt and experiences an average of more than 2,000 earthquakes every year, of which 15-16 are of magnitude 5 or more. There were more than 96000 earthquake were felt between 2006 and 2015.

Do nuclear tests cause such earthquakes?

According to organizations like USGS and CTBTO, nuclear explosions can trigger seismic stress and cause earthquakes, but these are usually less intense than explosions and are limited to a radius of a few kilometers. It is observed that nuclear blasts generate P-waves while natural blasts generate both P-waves and S-waves.
